At Wilson Eye Centre, you are the focus.
We offer a full spectrum of services for ophthalmology – eye health and treatments.
Cataracts
Another age-related eye disease that should be carefully monitored is cataract. They start so slowly that you will not know you have them. At some point though, they will interfere with your eyesight too much. Dr Wilson can then remove your cataracts by a routine operation, giving you a new lens called an intraocular lens (IOL).
Glaucoma
Glaucoma can lead to blindness if steps are not taken. If you have glaucoma, regular visits to an eye doctor are essential. Dr Wilson will periodically do some diagnostic tests to make sure that glaucoma is not quietly stealing your eyesight. If your glaucoma eye drops are not doing the job properly, there are other treatments and he will know which one will serve you best.
Macular Degeneration
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) can happen to anyone. When the retina starts to break down in its central area, the macula, your direct, central vision starts to blur. There is no cure for AMD but it can be slowed down depending on if you have “Wet” or “Dry” AMD.
Diabetic Retinopathy
Do you have diabetes? Eye problems that arise from diabetes is known collectively as diabetic retinopathy. If you are a diabetic, you probably know that you are at greater risk of eye problems, and that it is very important that your diabetes be well-controlled.
